The Napoleons. A Photography Studio
Founded by Anaïs Tiffon and Antonio Fernández, the Rambla studio continued to grown a accumulate successes over the years, until finally they opened more studios in Madrid and Palma de Mallorca. Specialized in portraits, they photographed many prestigious and important characters of the era eventually becoming Royal photographers after photographing Isabel II and Alfons XII.
The Arxiu Fotogràfic de Barcelona contains 215 from the Napoleon studios in an exhibition that will be open until the 14th of May and is free-of-charge. The DHUB has collaborated with this exhibition by loaning three symbolic pieces that were a part of the Napoleon studios. The items, that served as props for the photographs, are Neo-gothic armchair, a lecturn and a photographic display and carry the seal of the era and the personalities that passed through the studio.
