Felissimo is an American company that promotes and distributes design objects. Alongside product sales, for years it has been championing a socially supportive business philosophy from its headquarters in New York (10 West 56 Street, NY 10019).

With this in mind, they organise activities that reveal the power of design to arouse and touch the collective conscience. Moreover, part of the proceeds from their product sales are donated to causes that enhance the future of the more disadvantaged.

One of Felissimo’s unique events is hosted under the title, Social Designer, the name and logo of the designer, Martí Guixé. This platform involves organising competitions which, for their duration, contribute to social causes and help to yield fresh, innovative ideas.

This time the competition encourages designers to create a one-minute video by bringing their best creative resources into play, both in the concept and form. The aim is to illustrate and/or tell a story that exemplifies patience as a gift – a visual document that reflects the idea that being patient often has its rewards.

This competition is intended as a contribution to UNESCO’s programme, Tribute 21 D.R.E.A.M. Centers. Implemented in 2004, it works with children in war zones – Afghanistan, Cambodia, Haiti and Liberia. The idea is to provide them with the tools they require to express their creativity.
